The sterling soared to a 15-year high against the U.S. dollar in Monday`s morning trading in New York as UK annual house price inflation rose 15% annually. The sterling was at 1.9876 shortly after 3 am ET when it began to climb into the mid-morning. The sterling reached the high of 1.9941 around 6 am ET.
