Scadinavian Currencies Varied On Monday, Monday, April 16, 2007 11:32:30 AM

The Scandinavian currencies were mostly choppy against the dollar and euro on Monday. Meanwhile, the Swedish and Norwegian currencies were strong against the euro, with the Norwegian krone also showing strength against the dollar. The currencies moved with little economic news from the respective areas.

The Swedish krona advanced against the dollar on Monday to a mark of 6.7982. In general, the Swedish currency is at a four and a half month high against the dollar. In trading with the euro, the krona rose to a mark of 9.2129 by the late morning. Overall, the krona is at a two month high.

The Danish krone was choppy in action with the dollar on Monday as it bounced between a high of 5.4941 and a low of 5.5039. On the whole, the Danish currency is at a multi-year high. Against the euro, the Danish krone held between a high of 7.4492 and a low of 7.4554. Generally, the currency is at a two week high.

The Norwegian krone edged up to a mark of 5.9529 against the dollar in action on Monday. Overall, the Norwegian currency is at a multi-year high. In trading with the euro, the Norwegian krone climbed to 8.0674 in the late morning. Generally, the krone is near a 7 week high.
