Forex News: 27.02.2007 Durable goods orders dropped by 7.8% in the USA
In January durable goods orders dropped in the USA by 7.8%, reflecting sudden decrease of consumer confidence in current economic situation. The analysts expected the index would fall by 2.5%.The preceding reading was also revised. Durable goods orders rose in December by 2.8% (3.1% reported earlier).
Durable goods orders excluding transportation dropped in January by 3.1%, after 2.6% increase in December.
Durable goods orders excluding defense fell in January by 7.8%, compared with 4.0% rise in December.
