Swiss Currency Moves Little Overall On Thursday Morning, Thursday, July 05, 2007 8:26:03 AM

The Swiss currency moved little overall against its world counterparts in trading on Thursday morning in New York. The franc saw strength in the early hours against its counterparts, but lost most of its gains as trading progressed. The Swiss currency moved with little news from the area.

The Swiss franc was mixed against its American counterpart on Thursday morning trading. The currency rose sharply around 2:00AM EST, but lost some ground as action progressed into the mid morning. By 8:15AM, the Swiss currency was moving at 1.2135. In general, the Swiss franc is near a two month high against its American counterpart.

The Swiss franc was varied against the British sterling in trading on Thursday. While the currency rose steadily in the early hours against the pound, it lost ground in the mid morning trading and gave back most of its gains. The franc was moving at 2.4493 by 8:15AM EST. On the whole, the Swiss currency is within the range of the past month.

In trading against its European counterpart on Thursday morning, the Swiss currency saw little overall direction. The currency advanced past the 1.6530 mark in the early hours, but gave back most of its gains as trading progressed. The franc was moving at 1.6554 at 8:20AM EST. Generally, the Swiss currency is in a range that has held for the past two months.

Against the Japanese yen, the Swiss currency saw little movement in Thursday morning action. While the currency ticked past the 101 mark in the early hours, the franc slipped back to 100.97 by 8:20AM EST. Overall, the Swiss currency remains near a multi-year high against its Japanese counterpart.
