According to the survey of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, manufacturing activity declined in Great Britain in March.

CIPS manufacturing index, reflecting several aspects of economic growth including employment, prices and economic expectations, decreased in March to 54.4 points from 55.4 in February. The analysts expected the index decline to 55.1.

The index of manufacturing decreased in March to 54.5 points from 56.8 points in February. The index of employment fell to 51.4 from 52.1. The index of new orders, reflecting economic perspective of manufacturing sector, decreased to 57.1 points from 57.6 in the preceding month.
