Forex News: 14.12.2006 U.S. weekly initial jobless claims fall to 304,000
The number of Americans filing for first-time state unemployment benefits fell to its lowest level since mid-October, the Labor Department reported Thursday.Initial jobless claims decreased by 20,000 to 304,000 in the week ending Dec. 9. Meanwhile, the four-week moving average of new claims fell by 1,500 to 327,250, according to the data.
The number of workers continuing to claim jobless benefits dropped off by 33,000 in the week ending Dec. 2, to 2.47 million. It's the lowest since Nov. 18.
